The interim administration in Punjab has decided to update the driving license fees for the upcoming year, bringing about significant changes. Instead of the previous five-year cycle, drivers will now pay their fees annually. Commencing on January 1, 2024, learner driving license fees will experience a notable increase, rising from Rs. 60 per five years to Rs. 500 per year. The fee for a Learner License in Punjab has been updated in 2024 to Rs 500.Recently Islamabad Driving License Fee for all cateogries has also increased significantly by ITP Police.
Motorcycle and motorcycle rickshaw operators will now pay Rs. 500 annually, departing from the previous Rs. 550 every five years. Furthermore, the five-year license fee for motorcar-jeep has been adjusted to Rs. 1,800 per year, compared to the previous Rs. 950 for five years.
Heavy transport license fees have seen a substantial increase from Rs. 400 every five years to Rs. 2,000 per year. Notably, the Rs. 20 five-year license fee for disabled individuals has been eliminated.
Additionally, public service vehicles will now pay Rs. 1,500 per year, up from Rs. 450 every five years. For categories not specified, the driving license fee has been revised from Rs. 100 to Rs. 1,000.
